Newnan, Georgia- I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Illustration. I ran my own house painting business for 2 years before turning to teaching art at the high school level. After teaching for 18 years, I shifted from the classroom to painting full time. In 2006 I started a journey to become the best painter I could possibly be. I found the best teachers out there doing workshops. In 2016, my friend, Meredith Wilson, and I launched The Studio School at Three Hearts Farm where I teach oil painting. My wife and I spend our summers on the road painting and exploring. In November of 2015 our son, R. David Boyd, III, joined us for these adventures.
I am an active member of several groups including the Oil Painters of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and I am a Signature Member with the American Impressionists Society. My work is available on my website at www.davidboydjr.com; there you can find my workshop schedule for the current year. You can also find a comprehensive list of the galleries that represent me. I hope you will join me on this artistic journey by following me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.

Oh my, this is so inspiring. I have been to Newnan, GA. I had a cup of Earl Grey tea, staring at the courthouse in the town square. I bought some ephemera of a local artist, Carl Tait! Your work is fantastic.
