A 20th-century pigment with no Old Master history, indanthrone nonetheless lets modern painters recreate the deep, warm blues of indigo and Prussian without their drawbacks. A deep, warm, transparent blue prized for darks and glazes - among the most lightfast of the synthetic organics.
