Pigment History

The story of PV19

A modern, permanent violet - transparent and strong, ideal for glazes and lively tints.

How it is made

The same chemistry as the quinacridone magentas, conditioned to a violet crystal form. Milled in oil it gives a transparent, staining, very lightfast violet.

In the hands of the masters

No Old Master could paint a permanent violet - quinacridone violet is a 20th-century gift, letting painters build luminous purples that will not fade.

Origin
Synthetic organic - quinacridone (violet crystal form).

Quinacridone.
